The WildFlower (2022) Synopsis: It tells the story of three women living in the same compound, experiencing different forms of assault from the men around them. One of these women, 24-year-old Rolake Dabiri, decides enough is enough as she speaks up and revolts against these men.

The WildFlower Movie Review
If there is anything Biodun Stephens does well in her movies, it is representation. She has mostly done comedies, and the lower income strata of the society are well represented in a way that you get a better understanding of their life issues. In this latest offering, she deals with the issue of power, rape, and what the survivors face. She showed such starkness, yet so much compassion in directing this movie, that everyone can find their own place in the story.
There is hardly any humour in this movie, but there are pockets of laughter, and I am glad the movie treats the issue with the seriousness it deserves. The lead actor, Damilare Kuku, has been in a lot of Web series, and she shows here that she is made for the big screen. Deyemi Okanlawon gives a stellar performance as the main villain, but I sure hope he is not getting pigeonholed into such kinds of roles. Sandra Okunzuwa as Ada Olisa is a breath of fresh air; she interprets her role beautifully. You will find the emotions raw in this movie, yet there is no overacting.
The costume is appropriate for every role. I particularly love that they let children be children and dress like children. We see a fresh take on people living on the low income level of society, and how they live and support each other.
I like how Biodun Stephen does not seek to resolve all the issues in the movie, as art imitates life; bad people still get away without getting recompense for their evil, and good people get hurt without relief. This is a gentle movie with pockets of action, but a sure one to take tissues to the cinemas to watch.
